Kansas City is home to the only Museum in the country dedicated solely to World War One. It is also home to Waddell and Reed. This year is the company's 75th anniversary and the 100 year anniversary to the start of WWI. The company has built a traveling exhibit to honor those who served in WWI and to raise money for the museum. If we got a little publicity in the process that would be alright as well. The rig will go to 75 cities during the year. It came to Reno in February. We sent out invitations to our clients and the event was covered very well by the local news media. We held the event at the Art Museum. Half of the funds raised went to the Art Museum and half to the WWI Museum. We were shocked that over 2300 hundred people came to the event. Usually a client invited event will draw 100 to 200 people. There was a line of patiently waiting people around the block all day to see the exhibit. A lot of people brought letters, pictures, and other memorabilia from relatives that had served in the war. A lot of veterans came. I don't know yet home money was raised. The driver of the rig told us that our event was the best attended event so far on the tour. The company figures that they get 8 - 10 times the value of publicity from the tour as the tour actually costs the company.
